Our verdict on LeanBiome
What we liked
- Full Supplement Facts panel, with a dose for every item except the 10 mg blend of 7 species
- 180-day refund window, and opened or empty bottles do not need to be returned
- Caffeine-free (decaffeinated green tea extract) and vegan per the label
- One-time ClickBank payment with no auto-ship, and free US shipping on 6 bottles
Watch out for
- Weight-loss figures on the sales page come from other products or diets, not from this formula
- Probiotic strains are not identified, so the vendor's cited trials cannot be matched to the bottle
- Seven of the nine species share one 10 mg blend with no individual amounts
- Three business addresses (Delaware, Ohio, Tennessee) across the label, footer and BBB
- Unopened bottles go back at your own cost, and the refund page contradicts itself on shipping
- No single-bottle option: the cheapest order is $158 plus $9.95 shipping
TonicNest may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. That does not change what we report.
LeanBiome is a probiotic and green tea capsule sold through ClickBank, and its own label is the best reason to look at it: 20 billion CFU of 9 probiotic species plus 4 other ingredients, every dose printed except one blend[2]. No published trial has tested this exact formula. The weight results on the sales page belong to single strains, other products or diet programs[1].
The views in this guide are our own. They are not the views of Lean for Good. We checked the sales page, label, refund policy and ClickBank checkout on October 27, 2026.
What is LeanBiome and what does the vendor claim?
The vendor says an imbalanced gut is "the newly-discovered root cause of belly fat" and that LeanBiome is the first product to pair nine "lean bacteria" species with Greenselect Phytosome[1]. The sales page also says being overweight "isn't your fault" and features a spokesperson called Meghan.
ClickBank is the retailer: it runs checkout, charges your card (the statement reads CLKBANK*Biome) and also accepts refund requests[5]. The sales page lives on bestleanlife.com, and the label points to leanforgood.com.
LeanBiome facts at a glance

Who might consider LeanBiome, and who should not?
LeanBiome may suit a healthy adult who already eats well and stays active, wants a caffeine-free probiotic, and is comfortable using the 180-day refund as a trial period. It is not a substitute for a medical check of weight gain, which can have causes a capsule will not address.
Ask a doctor before buying if any of these apply to you:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding; our sources do not establish safety for this formula.
- You have liver disease, or take nadolol, atorvastatin or raloxifene (green tea extract cautions)[11].
- You take cyclosporine or tacrolimus, or are on chemotherapy (mangosteen cautions)[16].
- You are seriously ill, immunocompromised or have a central line (probiotic caution)[9].
- Your weight changed quickly without a clear reason.
To see where your weight sits before you start, our guide to calculating BMI walks through the math.
How does LeanBiome claim to work?
The vendor says LeanBiome works by rebalancing gut bacteria, which it calls the root cause of belly fat, while the green tea phytosome adds its own effect on fat[1]. That is a claim. What is known is narrower: some single probiotic strains have small trials, but no study tested this capsule.
Three gaps sit between the claim and the bottle:
- Strains: probiotic effects are strain-specific, and the label names species only, with no strain codes[2].
- Delivery: the L. gasseri trial the vendor cites gave a named strain in fermented milk, not a capsule.
- Diet: the 30 lb Greenselect result the vendor quotes came with a calorie-controlled diet[1].
We weigh each step in our check of whether LeanBiome works.
What ingredients are in LeanBiome?
LeanBiome contains 9 probiotic species totaling 20 billion CFU, plus inulin 200 mg, decaffeinated green tea phytosome 300 mg, Sphaeranthus indicus 300 mg and mangosteen pericarp 100 mg per 2 capsules[2]. Evidence grades below are for weight outcomes in people.
| Ingredient | Per 2 capsules | Dose disclosed | Evidence for weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lactobacillus gasseri | 25 mg (10 billion CFU) | Yes | Not graded: effects are strain-specific, and the label names the species only |
| Lactobacillus rhamnosus | 10 mg (5 billion CFU) | Yes | Not graded: effects are strain-specific, and the label names the species only |
| Blend: L. fermentum, L. paracasei, L. plantarum, B. bifidum, B. lactis, B. longum, B. breve | 10 mg (5 billion CFU) total | No (per species) | Not graded for weight; the trials we hold for L. paracasei and B. lactis cover oral health only |
| Inulin (chicory root) | 200 mg | Yes | Weak: a meta-analysis of 33 trials found no effect on body weight[13] |
| Green tea phytosome, decaffeinated | 300 mg | Yes (EGCG not stated) | Weak: small weight loss "not likely to be clinically important"[10] |
| Sphaeranthus indicus | 300 mg | Yes (extract ratio not stated) | NOT checked |
| Mangosteen pericarp | 100 mg | Yes | Weak: one open pilot of 22 women, insulin outcome, not weight[15] |
CFU means colony-forming units, a count of live bacteria. The label does not say whether 20 billion CFU is the count at manufacture or at expiry.
The doses also differ from the studies. Inulin trials dose in grams, and LeanBiome has 200 mg. The Guess 2015 trial that found extra weight loss with inulin ran 18 weeks with dietitian support in people with prediabetes[14].
The sales page says the green tea is Greenselect Phytosome, but the label does not print that trademark. Full notes on each item are in our LeanBiome ingredients breakdown.
Does LeanBiome work for weight loss?
No trial has tested LeanBiome itself, so there is no direct evidence that this formula causes weight loss. The ingredient evidence for weight is weak or ungraded, and the vendor's headline numbers come from other products, single strains or diet programs[1].
Here is the evidence ladder, from the first rung to the strongest:
- Plausibility: gut bacteria and body weight are an active research area. That makes the idea reasonable to study, which is a long way from proof for a product.
- Ingredient trials: Cochrane found green tea preparations give a small, non-significant weight loss; outside Japan, BMI changed by 0.2 kg/m2[10]. Added to exercise, green tea gave "quite minimal additive benefit"[18]. Inulin had no effect on body weight across 33 trials[13].
- Probiotic trials: the vendor quotes L. gasseri, L. rhamnosus and L. fermentum results. Effects are strain-specific, and the label lists species with no strain codes, so those results cannot be assigned to this bottle.
- Finished-product trial: none exists in our sources.
The vendor says its L. gasseri group "lost, on average, a whopping 8.5% of belly fat" and turns that into "15 lbs of stubborn fat in just three months". The trial behind it used fermented milk. NIH's Office of Dietary Supplements notes that ingredient effects "might be different when they are combined with other ingredients in a product"[17].
If you try it, track your weight and waist for the first 8 to 12 weeks, well inside the 180-day refund window.
LeanBiome side effects: who should ask a doctor first?
LeanBiome's likely side effects are digestive: probiotics and inulin can cause gas or bloating, and green tea extract can cause nausea, constipation or belly discomfort[9][11]. People on certain medicines or with liver disease should ask a doctor first.
| Ingredient | Caution |
|---|---|
| Probiotics | Rare serious infections in people who are severely ill or immunocompromised; antibiotics may kill the bacteria, so space doses[9] |
| Green tea extract | Uncommon liver injury, mainly from extract capsules; lowers nadolol and atorvastatin levels; interacts with raloxifene[11] |
| Mangosteen | May interfere with some chemotherapy; possible added effect with cyclosporine or tacrolimus[16] |
| Inulin | Gas and bloating; people with IBS or FODMAP sensitivity may not tolerate it[13] |
The vendor suggests taking it before breakfast. A safety review found liver risk from green tea extract is higher with bolus or fasting doses[12], so ask a pharmacist whether to take it with food.
See a doctor right away if you notice:
- Yellow skin or eyes, dark urine or pain in the upper right belly
- Fever or chills while immunocompromised
- Rash, swelling of the face or trouble breathing
- Severe or lasting belly pain, vomiting or diarrhea
More detail is in our LeanBiome side effects guide.
What do LeanBiome complaints and buyer reports show?
Public complaint data on LeanBiome is thin. As of October 27, 2026, BBB lists one Lean for Good profile, in Nashville, Tennessee, rated C; we did not check the complaint details behind that rating[6].
- Trustpilot: NOT checked. The page returned an access error and no archived copy exists.
- FDA recalls: none found in the openFDA food enforcement database for Lean for Good[7].
- FDA adverse event reports (CAERS): no reports naming LeanBiome[8].
- FDA warning letters: NOT checked.
The BBB address differs from the Ohio address on the label and the Delaware address in the site footer[2]. We list what each source shows in our LeanBiome complaints roundup.
How much does LeanBiome cost?
LeanBiome costs $158 for 2 bottles, $207 for 3 or $294 for 6, checked October 27, 2026 on the vendor page and ClickBank checkout[1][5]. There is no single-bottle option.
| Package | Per bottle | Total | US shipping | Per day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 bottles (60 days) | $79 | $158 | $9.95 | $2.63 |
| 3 bottles (90 days) | $69 | $207 | $9.95 | $2.30 |
| 6 bottles (180 days) | $49 | $294 | Free | $1.63 |
Prices checked October 27, 2026; per-day cost is before shipping. The 6-bottle ClickBank checkout showed $294.00 total with $0 shipping and $0 tax in the US[5].
Payment is one-time, with no auto-ship. Checkout adds an optional $6.95 shipping insurance box, which you can leave unticked. The 3 and 6 bottle packages list "2 Free Bonuses", but only one is named: an eBook of 21 smoothie recipes. US delivery takes 5 to 7 business days.
Coupon and discount details are in our LeanBiome price and coupon guide.
What is the LeanBiome refund policy?
LeanBiome has a 180-day money-back guarantee counted from the order date, not the delivery date[3]. Refunds are processed in 5 to 7 business days.
- Contact Lean for Good at 1-800-763-1979 (Mon to Fri 6am to 5pm, Sat 6am to 2pm Pacific) or ClickBank at 1-800-390-6035.
- Send back unopened, undamaged bottles with the packing slip to 285 Northeast Ave, Tallmadge, OH 44278, at your own cost.
- Opened or empty bottles do not need to be returned.
The refund page promises a "FULL refund, including the S&H costs" but also says "refunds for your original purchase only"[3]. Ask which applies before you return anything.
Where can you buy LeanBiome?
LeanBiome is sold through the vendor's ClickBank checkout, and the vendor's affiliate rules bar resale on Amazon or eBay[4]. A marketplace listing falls outside the vendor's 180-day refund, and you cannot confirm how the bottle was stored or how old it is.
Buying through ClickBank gives you the published label, the written refund terms and a second refund route through ClickBank itself[3][5]. See LeanBiome on Amazon and Walmart for what we checked on each marketplace.
Is LeanBiome legit?
LeanBiome is a real product sold through ClickBank, which handles payment and refunds. The label names a distributor with an Ohio address and a phone number[2].
Some claims cannot be verified. The vendor says the product is "Doctor Formulated", "3rd party tested" and made in an "FDA-inspected", cGMP facility, but names no doctor, lab or facility[1]. The sales page attributes a gut study to "Ivy League Scientists", while the twin study it describes came from King's College London. The seller-side facts are in our check of whether LeanBiome is legit.
LeanBiome vs other approaches to weight loss
A supplement like LeanBiome is an add-on at most. Diet and activity changes carry the weight in the trials, and the largest result the vendor quotes came alongside a calorie-controlled diet[1].
| Approach | Strength | Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Calorie-controlled diet with support | In the inulin trial, both groups lost about 5% by week 9 with dietitian support[14] | Takes sustained effort |
| Exercise | Produces weight loss on its own; green tea added "quite minimal" benefit on top[18] | Results vary by person |
| Green tea extract supplements | Small weight change in trials[10] | Not clinically important; uncommon liver injury[11] |
| Probiotic supplements | Some single strains have small trials | Strain-specific; LeanBiome's strains are not named |

How do you take LeanBiome?
The vendor says to take 2 capsules a day, "preferably in the morning before breakfast"[1]. One bottle of 60 capsules covers 30 days. The label gives no instruction on antibiotics; NCCIH notes antibiotics may kill probiotic bacteria, so spacing the two apart is sensible[9]. The pharmacist question about green tea extract on an empty stomach applies here too. Timing, missed doses and storage are covered in how to take LeanBiome.
LeanBiome: final take
LeanBiome publishes more of its formula than most products in its category, costs $1.63 to $2.63 a day, and carries a 180-day refund that lets you keep opened bottles. Those are its strengths.
It may suit a healthy adult who wants a caffeine-free probiotic and sees it as a small add-on to diet and activity. People who expect the sales page's pound figures should skip it, because those numbers came from other formulas, strains or diets. Anyone on the medicines listed above, or with liver disease, should ask a doctor before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
What is LeanBiome made of?
LeanBiome contains 20 billion CFU of 9 probiotic species, inulin 200 mg, decaffeinated green tea phytosome 300 mg, Sphaeranthus indicus 300 mg and mangosteen pericarp 100 mg per 2 capsules. Seven of the species share a 10 mg blend without individual amounts.
Does LeanBiome have caffeine?
The label lists decaffeinated green tea extract and no other caffeine source, so LeanBiome is sold as caffeine-free. The label does not state EGCG content. Green tea extract carries an uncommon risk of liver injury, so people with liver disease should ask a doctor first.
Which probiotic strains are in LeanBiome?
The label names species only, such as Lactobacillus gasseri and Lactobacillus rhamnosus, with no strain codes. Probiotic effects are strain-specific, so trials of named strains cited on the sales page cannot be matched to the bacteria in this bottle.
How long does one bottle of LeanBiome last?
One bottle holds 60 delayed-release capsules. At the label serving of 2 capsules a day, it lasts 30 days. The smallest order is 2 bottles, which covers 60 days, and the 6-bottle package covers 180 days.
Can I get a refund on LeanBiome if I opened the bottle?
Yes. The refund page says opened or empty bottles do not need to be returned. You must contact the company within 180 days of the order date, and you pay to send back any unopened bottles with the packing slip.
Is there a single bottle of LeanBiome?
No. As checked October 27, 2026, the cheapest LeanBiome order is 2 bottles for $158 plus $9.95 US shipping. The 3-bottle package costs $207 and the 6-bottle package costs $294 with free US shipping.
Does LeanBiome auto-ship or bill monthly?
No. The vendor FAQ says LeanBiome is a one-time payment with no auto-ship. ClickBank runs the checkout, and the card statement shows CLKBANK*Biome. An optional $6.95 shipping insurance box appears at checkout and can be left unticked.
Who makes LeanBiome?
The label says the product, labeled Biome, is distributed by Lean for Good, 285 Northeast Ave, Tallmadge, Ohio. The site footer lists a Delaware address, and BBB lists a Tennessee one. The vendor names no manufacturing facility or testing lab.
Can I take LeanBiome with antibiotics?
Antibiotics taken at the same time may kill probiotic bacteria, so space the doses apart. Ask your prescriber or pharmacist about timing, especially if you are seriously ill or immunocompromised, since probiotics carry a rare risk of serious infection in those groups.
